    Rammstein - Discography + Singles

Herzeleid (dated German for "Heartbreak") is the German NDH-metal band Rammstein's first musical album. It was released on 29 September 1995. The album's original cover depicted the bandmembers' upper bodies without clothing. This caused critics to accuse the band of trying to sell themselves as "poster boys for the Master race." [1] The song "Weies Fleisch" was covered by Debauchery in 2007 on the album Back in Blood. The songs "Heirate Mich" and "Rammstein" are featured in David Lynch's film Lost Highway. The direct translation of "Herzeleid" is "Heartache", but according to an interview on Talking Metal's podcast in 2007, Richard Z. stated that it does translate to "Heartache", but in the German language, it simply means "Heartbreak". The album is a culmination of the relationship troubles of 5 of 6 band members, hence the title "Herzeleid."

Sehnsucht (German for "Longing", "Desire" and sometimes "Hunger") is the German NDH-metal band Rammstein's second album. It was released on 22 August 1997.
The album booklet folds out to reveal six different covers, one for each band member (each photo depicting the member with bizarre facial-wear made out of ordinary kitchen objects like spatulas, spoons, forks etc.). The cover most commonly seen features Till Lindemann with a muzzle and bent forks blocking his view, as they are placed over his eyes. The cover art was created by Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein . The album is the only album entirely in German to be certified Platinum by the RIAA in the United States. The album cover on the right features Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider.

Live aus Berlin (German for "Live from Berlin", literally "Live out Berlin") is a recording of a concert by the German NDH-metal band Rammstein in 1998. It has been released in several formats:

    * CD (15 tracks)
    * 2 CD Limited Edition (18 tracks + multimedia content)
    * Censored Video/DVD (Without Bck dich though accessible on DVD)
    * Uncensored Video (With Bck dich)

There is no uncensored DVD version of Live aus Berlin. However, the song "Bck dich" can be found on the Internet and on the Family Values Tour '98 DVD.

The performance of "Bck dich" ("Bend down", "Bend over") is controversial. The portrayal of anal sex using a water-squirting *** led to the video being given an 18 certificate in Europe. The act led to the lead-vocalist Till Lindemann and keyboardist Christian "Flake" Lorenz being arrested during the Family Values Tour in the U.S. in 1998.

Reise, Reise (German (Literally): "Journey, Journey" or "Travel, Travel") is Neue Deutsche Hrte band Rammstein's fourth studio album. It was released on September 27, 2004 in Germany and followed shortly by its release across Europe. It was released in North America on November 16, 2004. It was in the Top 10 in several European charts and a #1 hit in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia and Mexico. The album ranked at #67 for Top 100 Albums of 2004 by Rate Your Music.
As used in "Reise, Reise aufstehen! Kommt hoch nach alter Seemannsart", the album name is an old sailor's expression to waken other sailors, hence the translation of the title would be "Arise, Arise", as seen in the song of the same name. Given Rammstein's propensity to use puns, a double meaning could well be intended, as the direct translation is "The Journey".

    Track listing

    1. "Reise, Reise" 4:12
    2. "Mein Teil" 4:32
    3. "Dalai Lama" 5:38

Rosenrot (German: "rose-red", listen) is their fifth musical album. It was released on October 28, 2005 in Germany, December 6, 2005 in Canada, and March 28, 2006 in the United States. A limited edition with a bonus DVD is also available.

The album includes six unreleased songs from Reise, Reise that had been omitted for artistic reasons, and five completely new ones. It was originally going to be titled Reise, Reise Volume Two, but on August 18, 2005 the album was announced as Rosenrot.

The cover art is nearly identical to the Japanese import of Reise, Reise. The image is a slightly altered photograph of the icebreaker USS Atka, taken on March 13, 1960 at McMurdo Station, Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica.

While Rammstein did not actively promote this album, the band built anticipation through a variety of means. The first single from the album, "Benzin", premiered at the Berliner Wuhlheide and was subsequently released on disc. Rammstein's official website featured one-minute samples from six of the tracks, and had featured a prominent release-date countdown. A brief section of the chorus from "Rosenrot" plays in the background of an e-card containing photographs of the band and basic album information.

    Track listing

    1. "Benzin" 3:46
    2. "Mann Gegen Mann" 3:51
    3. "Rosenrot" 3:55
