![]() This best-of album, the first by Gamma Ray, is to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary. Blast From The Past is a double album, with 20 songs taken from each of their studio albums, including 14 songs that were re-recorded by the current line-up. Add to this a very well-presented booklets with lots of pictures. All that at about the price of a normal album.
Of course any best-of album will draw comments such as "why didn't they put this or that song" or "why did they put that song in there"... Well, make your own then!  . There are a couple of songs I would have liked to see in there, but overall I think they did a very good selection that blends well together, and this is two hours of music that just fly by. There isn't much to complain about. Some purists have complained about the re-recording but I think it's interesting to see how the current line-up plays the old stuff.
In short, a must for Gamma Ray fans, and a cheap (money-wise) introduction for those new to the band's music. Get it. |
