Fall Out Boy is an American Pop punk band from Wilmette, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), that formed in 2001. The first single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race", reached #1 on the Pop 100 and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. To promote the album, the band performed at the Live Earth concerts July 7, headlined the Honda Civic Tour through mid-2007, and the band performed at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9. The band has toured numerous times, most recently on the Young Wild Things Tour with the Plain White T's, Gym Class Heroes, and Cute Is What We Aim For.

The title is taken from a line in the book The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf.[1][2] The album cover features a van with a trailer in a slump of snow. This is a reference to the car accident the band was in while they were driving to New York to film the video for "Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy" from their album Take This to Your Grave. Three singles were released from this album: "Sugar, We're Goin Down", "Dance, Dance" and "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me"".

It was brought up due to the fact that the band's fourth album, Infinity on High, was leaked onto the internet on January 19, 2007, three weeks before the album's release. The EP could be downloaded from the band's website between Tuesday, February 6, 2007 and Tuesday, February 13, 2007 using the CDPass software along with inserting a physical copy of Infinity on High into the CD-ROM drive of one's computer.

Infinity on High is Fall Out Boy's fourth studio album. It is the follow up to their 2005 album From Under the Cork Tree. Originally planned for release at the end of 2006, it was changed to early 2007. Infinity on High debuted at number-one on the U.S. Billboard 200, and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. The title is taken from a letter written by Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo in 1888, in which he describes his renewed health and the vigor it has instilled in his painting. Van Gogh's exact phrasing has been translated as "Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all". The photography for the album was done by Pamela Littky. The sets on the album artwork were designed by Todd Fjelsted. The artwork for the album was designed by Chuck Anderson of NoPattern. This album was #46 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007.
