* �CD, DVD, or Blu-ray Disc recordable or rewritable drive for burning
* �DirectX� 9.0c revision 30 (August 2006) or higher
* �Up to 9 GB available hard drive space for DVD images and temporary DVD files
* �Graphics card with at least 32 MB video memory and minimum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 16-bit color settings (24-bit or 32-bit true color is recommended)
* �Installation of the latest WHQL certified device drivers is strongly recommended
* �For the Nero Online services: Nero product registration, product updates, patent activation, Gracenote� services, Nero Online Backup, and other features (such as photo sharing) an Internet connection is required.

If there is a patent activation error follow these steps:
Click start and under nero, open NeroControlCenter4 (should be first tab)
Type in this key: 9M03-01A1-PCX7-K31A-8A94-98PT-KT2E-522A and CLICK "ADD".
Now the program will disappear looking like it closed...Don't panic it is just processing just wait like a minute or 2.
Once back type in any of these codes and do the same:

THEN enter:

ENTER BOTH!!!
Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\AdvrCntr4
Once there look for the file called "NeroPatentActivation" and rename it to "PATENTACTIVATION".
Now exit out of Nero.
Start up Nero StartSmart and it will thank you for purchasing. Click agree/OK. Once at the Nero StartSmart....EXIT.
Start up StartSmart again and it will say that this copy is not licensed and ask to purchase or cancel. Click CANCEL.
FINALLY start up StartSmart again and it should just go straight to Nero StartSmart.
Go to a program that would use the patent activation error and see if it occurs again.
