Season 20:
Episode 1: Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes
An alcohol-free Springfield St. Patrick's day parade is interrupted by a brawl between the city's Northern protestant and Republican catholic Irish population, in which Homer participates. A group of hungry children steal Marge's picnic basket. She is saved by Patrick Flannery, who scolds the children and returns the basket. Marge offers him a cupcake in gratitude, and Patrick immediately offers her a job at his bakery after eating it. Marge accepts, while Homer is arrested because of his involvement in the riot.
Due to his history of crime, Homer's bail is set incredibly high, and he is forced to get a bail bondsman named Lucky Jim to help him. Lucky Jim agrees to secure Homer's release from prison, as long as Homer doesn't skip his bail. Otherwise, he will have to deal with Wolf the Bounty Hunter, who quickly inspires Homer to become a bounty hunter himself. Homer's first mission involves pretending to sell condos on a street corner to criminals. Snake approaches Homer, who tries to take Snake down. Homer corners Snake in an alleyway, where Snake pulls out a pistol and fires a shot straight to Homer's head. Miraculously, Ned Flanders places a sheet of bullet proof glass in front of Homer, which deflects the shot. Ned and Homer manage to convince Snake to come in quietly. Homer, shocked with Ned's easiness, convinces him to join Homer as a bounty hunting duo.
At the bakery, Marge realizes that Patrick employed her at an erotic bakery after seeing Patty and Selma pick out a suggestively-shaped cake. Marge tries to quit, but Patrick says that there is nothing wrong with what he is doing, and that many of her friends have bought cakes from the store. Patrick informs Marge that she has a gift, and Marge agrees to stay. Meanwhile, Homer and Ned are successfully pursuing several bail-jumpers. Homer, now richer, spoils his family with gifts. Marge is equally proud of her job. That evening, Homer and Ned conduct a stakeout, hoping to take in Fat Tony. When he emerges next morning, Homer and Ned chase him around Springfield and eventually capture him by crashing their car into a subway car. Disgusted by Homer's unorthodox capture, Ned angrily quits. Ned tries to get out of the bounty-hunting business, but agrees to hunt for Homer after Lucky Jim informs Ned that Homer has skipped his bail.
When Homer arrives home to find Ned waiting for him, Homer declares that Ned will never catch him alive. A long chase ensues, ending with the two on a beam suspended high over the ground. Homer wails that he loved Ned, but Ned counters that Homer mostly hated him. Homer scoffs that it was only because Ned holds onto his resentments. Homer jumps onto another beam, but Ned fails to land on it, gripping onto the edge of the beam. He begs Homer for help, which causes Homer to flash back to all the good times he and Ned had together; Homer finally helps Ned, but ends up tumbling over the edge of the beam himself. Shrieking, he and Ned end up landing in a pool of wet cement which sets before they can get out. Chief Wiggum arrives to put Homer away, but in jail, Homer has been sentenced to a short stay. He receives a cake from Marge to "help get him through his sentence"; instead of something erotic as expected, he opens it to find a regular pink and white frosted sheet cake that simply says "To the love of my life".

Episode 2: Lost Verizon
When Principal Skinner makes a fool of himself on a freeway, Milhouse manages to catch the whole hilarious scene on his phone. He calls most of his friends to see Skinner getting beaten up by a drunken Barney, but doesn't call Bart. When Nelson asks why, Milhouse explains it's simply because Bart doesn't have a cell phone. Later on, Bart is taunted for missing out on laughing at Skinner. Bart asks Marge for a phone; Marge explains she simply can't afford to get a phone for Bart - she also can't afford to fund a dream trip for Lisa to Machu Picchu. While a depressed Bart takes a stride past the Springfield Glen Country Club, he is promptly hit by a golf ball. Angrily, he enters the golf course to hit the golf ball against the person who threw it at him; upon entering, it turns out Dr. Hibbert had accidentally hit him. Hibbert immediately pays Bart a dollar for retrieving the ball. Surprised, Bart takes the money and gets an inspiration: retrieving golf balls for money, in order to buy a cell phone.
A gleeful Bart is only $20 short, but his glee is cut short when Groundskeeper Willie discovers Bart is cutting in on his job. Willie confiscates all the golf balls, prompting Bart to return to his miserable mood. However, nearby, a celebrity golf tournament is underway; as celebrity Denis Leary (guest starring as himself) prepares to go for a round, but misses brutally when his cell phone rings at the same time. Angrily, Leary throws away his phone, which lands beside Bart. Bart, thinking quickly, quits his job and takes Leary's phone all for himself. While going to inform Milhouse of his new cell, Bart receives a call from producer Brian Grazer (guest starring as himself), who asks Leary to star in the film adaption of Everyone Poops. Bart, realizing the phone belongs to Leary, pretends to be him. A mischievous Bart makes prank calls all over the world, has all of Leary's money spent on New York Yankees hats and uniforms, among other pranks towards Skinner. Marge overhears Bart and Milhouse's mischievousness, and finally confiscates Bart's phone. Leary recalls his cell, and Marge answers, apologizing for her son's behaviour. Leary, still angry with Bart's tricks, suggests Marge activate the GPS system on the phone and return it to Bart, meaning she could track down Bart's every move.
Albeit guiltily, Marge activates the GPS system and returns the phone to Bart. Marge, spying on her son through the GPS system, is able to prevent Bart from watching an R movie, gambling at a horse race, and skating down steps and hurting himself. Lisa is shocked by Marge's injustice, and tells Bart. Predictably, Bart grows angry, and decides to get revenge. He ties the GPS chip to the leg of a bird, which flies away. Marge, thinking the bird is Bart, assumes that Bart is running away from her. While Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie are going through a nation-wide search for Bart, Lisa realizes that the bird is the one they had been chasing the whole time. After checking research on her laptop, she discovers the bird is migrating to Machu Picchu, her dream trip they couldn't afford. She deliberately lets the bird go free, so the family can chase it to Machu Picchu.
Bart relishes his newfound freedom, but is horrified and frightened of being alone at night. When the Simpsons arrive in Machu Picchu in the morning, the family searches for Bart. Marge, despite being exhausted, can't give up, but Lisa convinces her to rest on an ancient sculpture, below the statue of the ancient Peruvian God of the Sky. Marge, quickly falling asleep, is pulled into a dream world where the God of the Sky shows her Ancient Peru. He teaches her how throughout history, parents who over-parented their children could never set them free, which was how they were conquered by the Conquistadors. Upon waking, Marge learns that she cannot over-mother Bart, and must let him take steps for himself. Homer discovers that the family had been following a bird the whole time, assuring Marge she knows exactly where Bart is. Upon returning to Springfield, Marge asks Bart if he missed her. Bart says he didn't notice they were gone (for two weeks), so Marge, depressed, goes upstairs. However, upon reaching the stairs, she is stopped by Bart, who quickly begs her to never leave again. The episode ends with Lisa asking Homer, "Where's Maggie?" As it turns out, the family had left her in Machu Picchu, where she is being worshiped.

While Homer tries to save Bart, Lenny buys the lottery ticket and wins $50,000. A now gleeful Lenny invites a very sullen Homer to a rich, posh party at the expensive Woosterfield Hotel. While going to the party, Bart unintentionally sprays Marge's new dress with cat urine, angering her and Homer. While Homer tells Lenny he is grateful for his success, Bart is in the Anteroom, concocting a plan to destroy the party. He opens all the gift bags and releases the VAC-U-BOTs, which run wild and cause mayhem, destroying everything. The police catch Bart; Marge, furious, confiscates all of Bart's prized possessions. Bart is furious with his family and heads to the bathroom, where he meets Simon Woosterfield, a rich boy who turns out to be Bart's exact look alike.
Bart learns that Simon dislikes his rich and pompous lifestyle. Bart and Simon switch places, and Bart really likes his new home. Bart meets Mr. Burns and Smithers at a party with his new family, and Bart finds out that Simon set Bart up. Lisa figures out that Simon is not Bart, and tries to figure out what they are up to. Simon warns the Simpsons that Simon's real siblings are going to kill Bart (Simon) on a Ski Trip. While trying to rescue Bart, Homer falls and turns into a giant snowball while rolling down the hill. The boys return to their real families. After Marge tucks him into his own bed, Bart decides, "This is the life."

However, the Pumpkin is appalled to find that his kindred pumpkins are being carved up on Halloween, and vows revenge by eating several people whole, including Homer, Groundskeeper Willie, and Nelson. Realizing that Milhouse can bring things to life by believing in them, she tells him about "Turkey Tom", a symbol of Thanksgiving, who comes to life and kills the Grand Pumpkin, freeing everyone he ate. However, when Turkey Tom learns of what people do to turkeys on Thanksgiving, he vows revenge and starts eating the children as well.

Ned and Maude shock Homer and Marge by revealing the two of them are married; Ned attempts to convince Homer not to have any sexual activities with Marge, much to Homer's discomfort. Back in the present, Homer becomes quite annoyed with the Squeaky Voiced Teen's kissing Beatrice, which prompts him to go into another flashback, in Homer and Marge's married years.

The house owner, Alberto, is having a party, and he invites Homer and Marge inside. Wishing to take a break, they accept. Alberto and Sylvia fall in love while Homer and Marge rekindle their love. In the present, Homer sees this message on the same tree and decides there is still time to save his marriage. He attempts to peel the bark off the tree and show the message to Marge; Marge suddenly arrives to find Homer and accidentally knocks the tree, which had severely weakened roots, over a ravine. Homer clings onto the bark and refuses to let go, but Marge tells him that their love for each other is within themselves, not in the bark. Homer falls down the ravine toward the river below, still holding onto the bark and peeling it all off the tree, with Marge falling after. They stop falling when the line of bark stops, allowing them to be saved by Bart and Lisa in their paddle car, which Bart had accidentally driven into the river.

Episode 6: Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words
Bart and Lisa start a lemonade stand, but it is quickly closed due to them not having a vending permit. They get in line at the licensing bureau, only to find that the long line is standing still due to the clerk doing a crossword puzzle. Impatient, Lisa completes the puzzle herself, only to find herself addicted to the puzzles. Eventually, she becomes so obsessed with them that Superintendent Chalmers hands her a pamphlet for the Crossword City Tournament.
Happening concurrently, Homer takes up a second job, in which he helps break up romantic relationships. After making a good deal of money doing so, he dreams that he is pestered by the "ghosts" of the jilted lovers (along with the "spirits" of the children those relationships would have produced, as well as the antique furniture they would have bought) and thus quits the trade.
At the crossword tournament, Homer bets his money from his breakup business on Lisa and vastly increases his money. However, upon hearing Lisa saying that she's wary of the final round, he bets on the other finalist, Gil Gunderson, instead. Gil plays Lisa for her sympathy and cons her into losing the round, which in turn lets Homer win his final bet. Upon realizing that Homer has come into some money but betting on the tournament, (she sees that he has gotten new shoelaces, hair highlights, and a new radio antenna), she refuses to acknowledge herself as Homer's daughter, even going so far as to call herself "Lisa Bouvier" (Marge's maiden name). Feeling guilty, Homer arranges for the crossword's clues and solution to contain hidden messages stating that he is sorry and he cares for her, which results in the two of them making up.

The Simpsons Movie
While performing on Lake Springfield, rock band Green Day are killed when the pollution in the lake erodes their barge. At a memorial service, Grampa has a prophetic vision in which he predicts the impending doom of the town, but only Marge takes it seriously. Lisa and an Irish boy named Colin, with whom she has fallen in love, hold a meeting where they convince the town to clean up the lake.
Meanwhile, Homer adopts a pig from the Krusty Burger. Homer stores the pig's *** in an overflowing silo which Marge tells him to dispose of safely. However, Homer gets distracted and instead dumps the silo in the lake, re-polluting it. Moments later, a squirrel jumps into the lake and becomes severely mutated. Nearby, Flanders and Bart discover the squirrel during a hike, and the EPA captures it. Russ Cargill, head of the EPA, presents five options to President Schwarzenegger, who randomly picks the action of enclosing Springfield in a giant glass dome. When the police discover Homer's silo in the lake, an angry mob of townspeople approach the Simpsons' home and sets it on fire, but the family escapes through a sinkhole and flees to Alaska.
Cracks start to appear in the dome and Cargill, not wanting news of what he has done to become widespread, plans to destroy Springfield. In Alaska, the Simpsons see an advertisement for a new Grand Canyon to be located on the site that was Springfield. Marge and the kids decide to go and save the town, but Homer refuses to help the people who tried to kill them. The family abandons Homer and leaves but are captured by the EPA and placed back in the dome. After a visit from a mysterious Inuit shaman, Homer has an epiphany and believes he must save the town in order to save himself.
As he arrives at Springfield to do so, a helicopter lowers a bomb suspended by rope through a hole in the dome. Homer climbs to the peak of the dome and descends the rope, knocking the escaping townspeople and bomb off. Homer grabs the bomb and a motorcycle. After reuniting with Bart, they cycle up the side of the dome and Bart tosses the bomb through the hole, seconds before detonation. The bomb explodes, shattering the dome. The town praises Homer, who rides off with Marge on the motorcycle into the sunset. The townspeople begin restoring Springfield back to normal.
