WII HOMEBREW TUTORIAL
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any Wii Bricks (Wii's rendered useless)
This is the easiest way to setup a backup loader for Wii games and extra applications with Homebrew Channel. Always Update Wii Homebrew Channel through internet before installing any updates. Also check online if homebrew is compatible
Requirements:
SD Card (512mb will do in my view, if you want to view movies I recommend atleast 2 gig, Before Starting Format your SD Card to FAT16/32)
SD Card Reader or Input in Computer or Laptop
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii Game
Twilight Hack Save (provided at end)
Method
1. (Optional) If you have an existing Zelda save that you want to backup, do so before proceeding
2. Put your SD card in your Wii and turn it on.
3. Go into Wii Options --> Data Management --> Save Data --> Wii
4. Find your Zelda save, click on it, click "Copy", and click Yes
5. Put your SD card in your computer, and copy the "private" folder from the card to a safe place.
6. Make sure that Zelda has been played at least once and you have saved the game.
7. Copy the "private" directory from the Twilight Hack download to the root of your SD card.
8. Copy "boot.dol" from the Homebrew Channel download to to the root (the top folder) of your SD card.
9. Put your SD card in your Wii and turn it on.
Go into Wii Options --> Data Management --> Save Data --> Wii.
10. Find your Zelda save, click on it, click "Erase", and click Yes.
Open the SD card and select the "Twilight Hack" save that corresponds to your game region.
11. Click copy and then yes. Now exit out to the main Wii Menu.
12. Insert The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game disc and run the game.
13. If you have the USA version of the game, load the "TwilightHack0" or "TwilightHack2" version of the game as appropriate (see the table above).
Otherwise, load the only "Twilight Hack" save game.
14. Once in the game, either walk backwards or talk to the man standing in front of you. Do not do anything else, like opening the inventory or it will freeze you console and you will have to hold the power button for five seconds to reset.
15. The Homebrew Channel installer should now load.
Press the RESET button on your Wii. (or "1" button on the Wiimote)
Done!
Installing Backup Loader (and other .wads)
1. Put file into your SD Card in a folder called WAD
2. Open Homebrew and Navigate your way to the option called Wad Manager
3. Open it and select source of SD Card
4. Select the Backup Loader of your Choice or the application wad of your choice
5. Wait for installation. Press Home to restart your Wii
Applications
Applications are opened via the Homebrew Channel unless they are WAD. WADS will be installed as channels on your system and will take up system blocks. Virtual Console and Wii Ware wads are also available for download and wad installation.
