Bianca Gismonti and Claudia Castelo Branco who make up the "Duo GisBranco" are two young and talented Brazilian pianists.
In case you're wondering, yes, Bianca is Egberto Gismonti's daughter. (Dedicated fans may remember the song "Bianca" on the "Duas Vozes" album, released in 1985.)
I've been lucky enough to see the duo a few times in action and I have always enjoyed their performance tremendously. There are usually several numbers by Egberto Gismonti, and they also do very interresting versions of some tunes by Astor Piazzola. On "gisbranco" their first CD, they present a wide spectre of Brazilian composers, from Villa-Lobos to Andr� Mehmari. No composer appears more than once (and Piazzola had to stay out).
