iPod Touch 2 2 1 Jailbreak + Applications tutorial
Tutorial written and tested by IcE1337 aka Zeenonh (iPod Touch 1G) - I'm not responsible if you mess up somewhere along the line and brick your iPod, if you do brick your iPod, chances are it can easily be fixed, Google it, I'm not going to teach you how to fix your iPod, I'm going to teach you how to Jailbreak it.
In this tutorial I'm going to teach you how to download the 2.2.1 firmware, free, and jailbreak it. But as a bonus I'm going to show you how to download hundreds of apps, basically anything you want, and how to upload apps from your pc to download onto your iPod..
==2.2.1 Firmware and Jailbreaking==
First, we need the 2.2.1 firmware, which you can buy at iTunes for $10, or download for free from here

Now once it's downloaded, save it where ever you want and extract the .ipsw.
Open iTunes and go to your iPod. Hold the Shift key and click Restore, this will allow you to choose the firmware you want to install on your iPod. If it doesn't allow you to choose, you need to downgrade your iTunes. Anyway, browse to the ipsw file and select it. Your iPod will now restore.
When it's complete, register it as a new iPod, don't use a backup from a previous iPod.
Now we need to get QuickPwn, download it here.

Open QuickPwn and follow it's instructions, it's not hard.
After it's finished, your iPod is now Jailbroken. Forget about iTunes for now, if it says anything about an iPod detected in recovery mode and needs to be restored, disconnect your iPod after you've finished Jailbreaking it. We don't want to have to start all over.
==Installing The Apps==
Now, look at your iPod's home screen. You'll see two new icons
Cydia and Installer. Installer is fun, has games and apps that you can download and install easily.
Okay, so you want free iTunes apps on your iPod, normally you have to pay for them.
Open Cydia and let it load.
On the bottom click "Sections"
Click "All Packages"
Go down to the I's and find "Installous", download and install it.
Now you have another new icon, Installous. Open Installous, it will take you to a home page where you can browse for apps to download. Select the options of your choice, or search for apps to download.
For example, click "Browse Alphabetically"
Click "All Categories"
Click "Search"
Type in "iBeer" and search for it.
Click "iBeer" and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Select a download, always pick the latest version unless something is ~censored~.
click "Version 2.0.4"
Now another new page opens up. Your best bet for downloading apps is to use the "iPhone-friendly links" such as endlessapps.net and appscene.org and other ones.
Select the first "endlessapps.net" download
A new page opens up, it's confusing because it's in a different language, but easy to comprehend.
If you see two gray buttons, click the second one, it's to download. If needed, enter a captcha code.
At some point after going through any crap, you'll see a green button that says "Download" and a red button that says "Install"
Select "Download"
After the download reaches 100%, click the Home button and go back to your home screen.
Open Installous, on the bottom select "Downloads"
You should see something like "643iBeer-v2.04" or the name of the app you downloaded, select it, click "Install"
Let it do it's thing.
After it's finished go back to your home screen and look for your newly installed app. Click it, and it will run.

Now. When you find an app you want to put on your iPod, let's say "BlackJack"
Goto Appscene.org and upload your app. When it's finished uploading, it will give you a link. For BlackJack I've got the link

All I have to do is open Safari and type in that link (Yes it's long, but oh well, it won't take long) and do what it says and download it. And bam, I've got an app to install via Installous so that I can use it on my iPod.
