This is the first, and one of the all time best episodes of Dinosaurs. Earl has a talk with his newborn son and tells him about the days preceding his hatching. As his tale progresses, he relates his hilarious attempt to attain a raise from his vindictive boss, B.P. Richfield, and the subsequent results. [Overall episode rating : 5 stars.]

2. The Mating Dance (original air date 5/3/91)

Fran, Earl's ever complaining wife, is becoming depressed due to all the work involved with caring for the new baby. As time progresses, Earl eventually becomes aware of her dour expression and decides that it is time to cheer her up. However, he misinterprets her problems and decides that the only way to please her is to re-learn the mating dance from a nighttime school. [Overall episode rating : 4 stars]

3. Hurling Day (original air date 5/10/91)

Earl is elated to learn that his vicious mother in law, Ethel, is hurtling toward her seventy second birthday. On the day of a dinosaur's seventy second birthday, they are hurled by a relative into a deep tar pit. According to the law Earl has been selected for the job, which he willingly accepts. As the day for her hurling draws nigh, Earl becomes ever more delighted and begins to brag to his co-workers and boss about the upcoming hurling. However, to Earl's extreme horror, his fourteen year old son, Robbie, decides that hurling is outdated and should no longer be implemented. Soon, Robbie starts to convince others of his new theory.

4. High Noon (original air date 5/17/91)

An enormous male dinosaur takes an interest in Fran when he sees her in the supermarket. Soon afterwards, he challenges Earl with a fight to the death for Fran. Earl accepts the challenge and begins his training. However, it soon becomes obvious that he can never win. The day for the fight arrives unbidden and he bids farewell to his family, since he expects to be killed in the fight. When the other dinosaur appears and the fight begins, Fran intervenes and tells the other dinosaur about her deep love for Earl and her hatred for him. [Overall episode rating 4 stars.]

5. The Howling (original air date 5/24/91)

As Robbie approaches adulthood he is expect to ascend to the top of a mountain and howl, as all other dinosaurs are expected to do when they reach adulthood. Robbie, however, sees the tradition as outdated and meaningless and refuses to acquiesce to it. His family warns him that there will be dire consequences if he does not fulfill this rite. He continues to ignore them and everyone eventually comes to their own conclusions about the rite of howling. Also, Earl and his best friend, Roy, start an enormous fight that threatens their friendship

Season 2



1. The Golden Child (originally aired 9/18/91)

When Fran becomes exhausted with caring for the baby, she leaves Robbie and Charlene to feed the baby his breakfast while she continues her housework upstairs. However, they soon decided that there are numerous things that they would rather be doing, and they leave the baby alone to feed himself. As can be expected, the baby eats all the wrong foods, especially copious piles of sugar. After this strange meal he grows a golden horn. When this growth becomes widely publicized, the elders from the Cave of Destiny order Earl to bring this strange child to them. Upon his arrival at the cave the elders inform him that the child is the response of an ancient prophesy. According to them the Child is to be the king of all Pangaea. Earl is forced to leave the baby at the Cave of Destiny. As time passes, the entire family begins to miss the baby, and they try to enact a scheme to return the baby home. 7. When Food Goes Bad (originally aired 10/30/91)

Unfortunately, this is the worst episode in the series. The Baby is conned into opening the refrigerator by the malevolent food that dwells within it. After the food escapes havoc is reeked on the house and Charlene and Robbie must devise a cleaver plan to return the food to its rightful home before Earl and Fran return from their romantic dinner, which also goes very badly. 8. Career Opportunities (originally aired 11/6/91)

In this episode the Sinclair's celebrate their form of "Christmas" which exalts cold storage. However, their beloved refrigerator is repossessed, leaving them with nothing to celebrate over the holiday. Robbie and his friend Spike stumble across some unusual plants in the forest that cause them to become very happy. Robbie brings the plants home and everyone enjoys them (even Earls boss!), except Fran and the Baby who disapprove of the use of substances to make dinosaurs happy. 1. Nature Calls

Now were in the 3rd Season of the series, as Fran tells Earl that she's changed every diaper in the past 15 years and now it's time for him to the responsibilities. But Earl doesn't feel the energy to do so, so instead after failing to change the diaper, Earl decides to make Baby go potty-training. Fran thinks it will take a long time, but Earl still insists that he should get the proper training quickly. Baby refuses to except these training changes, Earl keeps on trying but Baby has had enough and runs away in Ethyl's wheelchair into going into the wilderness. Where he is later captures by a big bird monster which puts him on her nest and waits for her little hatchlings to hatch so that they can eat him, Earl and Robbie immediately come to rescue him, and after the Baby jumps from the next, Earl promises to let the Baby decide when he's ready to go potty-training.

4. The Discovery

At the 'WESAYSO 10th Annual Employee Golf Tournament', Earl knocks a golf ball into a land where no dinosaur has gone, the edge of the known world. He claims this uncharted land as his own and soon discovers the land is inhabited by cavemen. B.P. Richfield convinces Earl to build a thriving Metropolis while Robbie tries to convince Earl the cavemen deserve respect. In the end, Earl is convinced to concede the land back to the cavemen when Robbie and Baby are kidnapped and a tax collector shows up.

The government blames the poor economy on four-legged dinosaurs and enacts anti-four-legged laws. 14. Out of the Frying Pan

1. Monster Under the Bed

After watching a scary monster movie with Earl and Robbie, Baby starts to fear a monster under his bed. Earl and Fran stay up to keep Baby company, but they lose a lot of sleep and decide to go to a motel. This leaves Robbie and Charlene to watch Baby. The monster turns out to be real when it pulls Charlene into it's underground cave. Robbie goes down there to save Charlene from the monster named Decker.

8. Into the Woods

Earl decides to continue a male dinosaur tradition. Earl takes Baby out to the forest and sits him on a stone, with the hopes that he will take care of himself and find his way home. Unfortunately, Earl, Roy and Robbie end up in a tar pit, leaving Baby the only one able to help. Finding an elderly dinosaur who is seeking his now grown son he left in the woods, Baby comes to the rescue just as the boys are about to completely sink in the tar. Roy is not aware that their rescuer just happens to be his father.

9. Scent of a Reptile

Charlene finds she's becoming a woman as she's developed her female scent from a bump on her neck. She hears that Earl married Fran because her scent was that of a new car. Charlene lucks out on finding any boy wanting to be with her because her scent is so vile, every boy avoids her, except the school janitor, who wishes to marry her. Charlene is anxious to change her scent by any means neccesary to get out of marrying, for which she gets help from Ethyl.

13. Earl and Pearl

Earl steams up when his sister Pearl, who only comes around once in 15 years, shows up to see the Baby. She's a country folk singer and invites Robbie and Charlene to the Bunkin' Bronto to hear her sing, Earl forbids it, but they go anyway. Down there, Roy meets Pearl and falls head over heels for her, but Earl forbids him to be in love with her, claiming she walked out on the whole family. Pearl explains to the kids when their father died, Earl dropped out of school to become a tree pusher and support their mother, and she packed up and left to pursue a singing career, and a rodeo clown named Buttons, and Earl never forgave her for walking out. Roy starts to see more of Earl in Pearl when he tries to kiss her and walks out, Pearl invites the whole family down to the Bunkin' Bronto for one last performance, and asks her baby brother to come up on stage for a duet that explains her apology.

14: Georgie Must Die

After Earl destroys Baby's Georgie tape, Baby continuously screams to see his favorite character. "Georgie, Georgie, Georgie!" Earl realizes that he sounds just like Georgie, and decides to try and trick Baby into believing that he's Georgie by wearing a costume. It works, until it lands him in jail.
