Elvis Presley

FTD - The Memphis Sessions
This FTD release is an extraordinary insight into Elvis rediscovering his musical roots.

Here is Beale Street Blues and Memphis Soul combined with some of the most meaningful lyrics that Elvis would ever record.

This recording session at Chips Moman's American Studios in early 1969 was the most important of Elvis' career. They proved that after years in the wilderness he was still a dynamic and important force in pop culture.

Burbank 1968.
The first FTD release is a beauty!
FTD Records, Fold-out digipack format, Running time: approx. 52 minutes
The debut release from FTD is a beauty! Focusing on Elvis' historic '68 Comeback Special, it is chock full of 23 great recordings (including three instrumentals and two dialogue tracks), 14 of which are previously unreleased.

The King is majestic, at a musical peak, rocking and serenading an appreciative, if initially apprehensive audience. The reason for their apprehension is the fact that Elvis hadn't performed live in front of an audience for nearly 8 years and both his nervousness and growing confidence shows throughout the album.

FTD - Spring Tours 1977
Spring Tours 77 April 1977 and Elvis, just four months before finally 'leaving the building', is still out on the road supporting the Colonel's gambling habit.

Since Elvis refused to go into the studio Felton Jarvis recorded portions of each concert, on a 4 track system, hoping to get some rare material to be included in Elvis' next LP.

FTD - The Nashville Marathon

Elvis was back at the top of the charts and on a high when he returned to the studios on June 4th 1970.

Having fallen out with Chips Moman & American studios Elvis was back at Nashville's Studio B. At the Memphis Sessions Elvis was striving at his artistic edge recording in the run-down ghetto area of Memphis and hoping to re-establish himself once again as a creative force.

FTD - Thats The Way It Was

Popping the CD into one's player greatly improves this FTD experience. Running from the unheard July 14 rehearsal through every recorded event to the August 13 dinner show, one gets a concise distillation of what Elvis is trying to put together for his fans. Whereas the segments from MGM rehearsals are loose as a goose, a private, cameras-barred session at RCA's studios on Sunset Boulevard is mostly all business. Each displays the evident passion Elvis has for performing and the respect he gives his core rhythm band.

FTD - Nevada Nights

A double CD of soundboard recordings from Elvis' August 1974 Las Vegas season. The first CD will include Elvis' astounding Opening Night concert where he carried out a major overhaul of his standard set list and included some very rare songs.

However as he was disappointed with the audience response Elvis returned to a more regular set the following night. However during the season there were plenty of rare alternate performances and with Elvis on good vocal form. It was a totally fascinating season, with Elvis on an extraordinary emotional roller-coaster ride. To be released in October

The second CD contains the complete Midnight Show from August 21. At this stage Elvis has returned to a regular set-up. Several songs from this show were made available on the 'Live In Las Vegas' BMG box-set in 2001.
