The image below are the services that i disabled successfully improving my computers performance
The only down fall is network activity will be undetectable but if you set
wireless networks to auto connect you wont need to worrk about it and also
media streaming to either PS3 or XBOX360 is no longer possible and so if this
does not affect you then try disabling these services.
To do this go to :
Start > Run > type"services.msc" and disable the services
you do not require.
Another tip is : Start Up services/programs
Start > run > "msconfig" disable all adobe msn google and any
other unimportant background programs from start up and services. You may
have to play around with some of these pending the software requirements
you have!
Another tip is: GUI's/themes
Disable all Vista GUI's replacing them with the classic window theme(grey and navy windows!)
Right Click on My Computer > Select properties
New Window > Select Advanced System settings on the Left
New Window > Select Performance> tick for best performance > Apply
Another tip is: Disabling System Restore
Right Click on My Computer > Select properties
New Window > Select Advanced System settings on the Left
New Window > Select Systems tab> Disable System Restore
