QuickPWN Jailbreak iphone 3g 3.0 OS Beta 4 ( 7A300g ) w/ installd

MMi member moderator StealthBravo has released a patched Quickpwn utilizing a beta 4 3G bundle cracked by HoZy and lilstevie NOT raafa17.lol
this is QuickPWN for the iphone 3g 3.0 OS Beta 4 Jailbreak.
This will install Icy.
Supported firmware
: Beta 4 (7A300g)
Supported devices: iPhone 3G
Files needed:
Firmware 3.0 Beta 4 for iphone 3G
QuickPwn for Beta 4
prerelease itunes 8.2
Windows Only
First update your itunes with 8.2. you could find both iphone 3g 3.0 Beta 4 OS and Pre-release of itunes here in Demonoid
Installation:
1. Shift + Restore or Shift + Upgrade for the 3.0 firmware beta 4 (important)
2. Run QuickPWN Beta 4 for icy
3. Follow onscreen instructions and when it says recovery mode, unplug your iphone, turn it off, wait 10 seconds, hold home for 5 seconds, then plug it in, continue following the onscreen instructions.
4. Enjoy jailbroken 3.0 beta 4
The only thing im stuck on is the Mobileinstallation or installd files for Beta 4. to intall .ipa
Update:
the Mobileinstallation they have a different work around now called installd
1. Download the new installd file:
Seach in Google for
3.0 BETA 4 IS JAILBROKEN
the first search result should be modmyi this is where i got my info and the
installd file
2. Backup your old installd to installd.bak file.
3. SSH into phone and place your installd file in: /usr/libexec/installd
4. You MUST Set permissions to 0755
5. Enjoy!
Additional tweaks
iPhone tethering is enabled in the Beta 4 release but you do need iTunes 8.2 installed
Battery percentage in status bar
Enable Battery Percentage
1. SSH into your iphone
2. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/
3. Download the file M68AP.plist
4. Open the file using a text editor or a plist editor
(Google: plist Editor for Windows)
5. Add a Boolean value under the: key capabilities /key dict
6. Boolean Key = gas-gauge-battery / Boolean Value
= true
(this all should look like this)

7. Save and upload the file to the same directory that it was originally in
8. Go onto the iPhone and respring
9. Now go to the application
Settings -> General -> Usage and there will be a Battery Percentage toggle and you can use it to enable battery percentage next to battery icon in top-right corner. |
