The Original Kings of Comedy (2000)
Doing their part to revive stand-up comedy's heyday in the 1980s, four African-American comedians -- Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac -- launched a comedy tour in 1999 that turned into the highest-grossing tour of its kind to date. Director Spike Lee pretty much let the reel run through a Charlotte, NC, performance. The humor is reminiscent of Eddie Murphy's and Richard Pryor's stand-up -- not for innocent ears!
