Godsmack is an American hard rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1996. The band comprises founder, frontman and songwriter Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin. Since its formation, Godsmack has released four studio albums, one EP, four DVDs, and one greatest hits collection.
Godsmack has sold over 10 million albums in the United States with an additional two million worldwide. The band has had two number one albums (Faceless and IV) on the Billboard 200, which ranks the sales of all popular music. They have had fifteen top ten mainstream rock singles, a debut album selling over five million copies in just two years and have also been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
Godsmack was the first major label album by the band Godsmack. The album was initially paid for by the band and released as All Wound Up, before the band was signed to Universal/Republic Records. It was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City. It featured a new song called "Someone in London" while the song "Goin' Down" was removed, but later appeared on the band's second major album Awake.

Awake is the second studio album by the heavy metal/hard rock band Godsmack. It was released on October 31, 2000. It features the song "Goin' Down" which first appeared on the band's first studio recording All Wound Up. This was the only Godsmack album to feature the drummer Tommy Stewart.
Since the mid 2000s, the songs "Sick of Life" and "Awake" have been extensively used for the United States Navy's "Accelerate Your Life" commercials.

Faceless is the third studio album by the heavy metal Godsmack. the album was released on April 8, 2003. This is the band's first album with former Ugly Kid Joe drummer Shannon Larkin. The songs "Straight Out of Line" and "I Stand Alone" had Grammy nominations for 'Best Rock Song' and, 'Best Hard Rock Performance' respectively.

The Other Side is an acoustic EP by the heavy metal/hard rock band Godsmack, released on March 16, 2004. It includes several previously released songs re-recorded as acoustic versions, as well as three new acoustic tracks. One new song, "Touch�", featured Godsmack's first guitar player, Lee Richards, as well as John Kosco, who were at that time in the now defunct band Dropbox, The other two new acoustic tracks were "Running Blind" and "Voices". The song "Asleep" is actually an acoustic version of "Awake" from the band's second album Awake.

The album includes all of Godsmack's commercially released singles (with the exception of "Bad Magick", from Awake), a cover of the Led Zeppelin song "Good Times Bad Times", and a DVD of the band's acoustic performance in Las Vegas, Nevada at The House of Blues.
